A good way to assess the non-financial characteristics of a potential franchisor is to ask current franchisees what they feel about the franchiser. Questions to ask include: - Did the franchisee receive the support he or she was promised?
- Is the franchise as profitable as initially indicated by the franchisor?
- Have any of the franchisees become insolvent?
- Is the franchisee happy with the advertising and promotional support received?
- Was the training provided by the franchisor adequate and effective?
- If the franchisee had the choice, would they purchase the franchise again?
